How do I decide which resolution to select when I scan from Epson Scan 2?
-
The software will recommend a resolution when you select one of the following Scan Settings: Film, Document, Magazine, Newspaper, or Photo. If you plan to enlarge a negative or slide for printing, see the table below.
Print Size DPI required 4 x 6 inch 1200 dpi 5 x 7 inch 1600 dpi 8 x 10 inch 2400 dpi 11 x 17 inch 3200 dpi 13 x 19 inch 4800 dpi 17 x 22 inch 6400 dpi Note: Higher resolution settings result in larger file sizes. For example, an 8.5 x 11-inch original scanned at 300 dpi can produce a 24MB file. The same original scanned at 72 dpi creates only a 1.3MB file. Large files take longer to process and print, so consider the practical limitations of your computer system when selecting a resolution. To keep your file size manageable, select the lowest possible resolution that gives acceptable quality.
