What does the message on my product's LCD screen mean?

    Product Status Messages

    You can often diagnose problems with your product by checking the messages on its LCD screen.

    Note: If the LCD screen is dark, press any button on the control panel to wake the product from sleep mode.

    Error code/message Condition/solution
    (E-01) A printer error has occurred. Turn the product off and then back on again. If the error continues, check inside the product for a paper jam. If there is no paper jam, contact Epson for support.
    (E-02) A scanner error has occurred. Turn the product off and then back on again.
    (E-12) A borderless printing ink pad needs to be replaced. Contact Epson for support; this is not a user-replaceable part. Borderless printing is not available, but printing with a border is available.
    (W-01) A paper jam has occurred. Remove the jammed paper, then press the button indicated on the LCD screen to clear the error. If the error continues, turn the product off and back on again.
    (W-14) A borderless printing ink pad is nearing the end of its service life. Contact Epson for support; this is not a user-replaceable part. The error will be displayed until the ink pad is replaced. (To continue printing, press the  start button.)
    (I-22) Set Wi-Fi using Push Button (WPS). To establish a wireless connection using a router or access point, press the button on the router or access point, or click the button on its wireless settings screen displayed on your computer.
    (I-23) Set Wi-Fi using PIN Code (WPS). Enter the PIN code displayed on the LCD screen into the router, access point, or computer within two minutes. If you wait longer than two minutes, a time-out error occurs, the code changes, and you must enter a new code.
    (I-31) Set Wi-Fi using Wi-Fi Auto Connect. To make wireless connection settings from your computer, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
    (I-41) The Paper Setup Auto Display option is disabled. You must enable Paper Setup Auto Display to use AirPrint.
    (I-60) Your computer may not support WSD (Web Services for Devices). The scan to computer (WSD) function is available only for computers running English versions of Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.x, Windows 7, or Windows Vista. Make sure your product is connected correctly to the computer.
    Turn the power off and on again. If the problem persists, contact XX. Try the following solutions:
    • Turn the printer off and on again.
    • If you are using a Wi-Fi connection, turn the wireless router off and on again. If the error message is still displayed, make a note of the error code, and contact Epson support.
    Recovery Mode A firmware update has failed. Connect your product using a USB cable and try updating the firmware again. If you still receive this error message, contact Epson for support.

    Note: In some print cycles a very small amount of surplus ink may be collected in the borderless printing ink pad. To prevent ink leakage from the pad, the product is designed to stop borderless printing when the pad has reached its limit. Whether and how often this is required will vary according to the number of pages you print using the borderless print option. The need for replacement of the pad does not mean that your printer has ceased to operate in accordance with its specifications. The printer will advise you when the pad requires replacing and this can only be performed by an authorized Epson Service provider. If this happens during the standard warranty of the product, the replacement of borderless printing ink pads is covered under the standard warranty.
