When and how should I clean or replace the air filter?

• Clean the filter if dust collects on it. Dust clogs prevent proper ventilation and can cause overheating, which can damage the projector. See Cleaning the Air Filter.
  
  Replace the air filter if you cannot remove the dust from it, it is damaged or torn, or you repeatedly see a projected message telling you to clean or replace it. See Replacing the Air Filter.
  
  Warning:
  Before you clean any part of the projector, turn it off and unplug the power cord. Never open any cover on the projector, except the lamp cover. Dangerous electrical voltages in the projector can injure you severely. Do not try to service this product yourself, except as specifically explained in the User's Guide. Refer all other servicing to qualified service personnel.
